Message from the Principal

Welcome to W.D. Richards, a vibrant neighborhood school on the northeast side of Columbus, IN. My name is Amy Mocas and I am proud to be the principal at Richards. As Raider Nation, we are deeply proud of our academics, close knit community, and commitment to excellence in all we do.

We are fortunate to have a diverse student body, representing a wide range of family heritages and rich cultures. While most of our families live within city limits, we also serve families who live on nearby farmland, adding to the wealth of experiences our students bring to school.

Our staff is experienced, innovative, and dedicated in their pursuit of providing instruction to meet the needs of all students. Our teachers possess diverse expertise and work collaboratively to leverage those strengths, creating a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Richards families play a crucial role in our students’ success, Families are engaged through our active PTO, volunteering in classrooms and on field trips, and in the ongoing partnership between families and staff.
